News: D.C. is finalizing a Master Pedestrian Plan
"The goal of the Pedestrian Plan is to make the District of Columbia safer and more walkable by improving sidewalks, roadway crossings and the quality of the pedestrian environment, and by ensuring that District policies and procedures support walking."
Details on the plan
Eight corridors have been selected as priorities:
- Ward 1: 16th St NW
- Ward 2: New York Ave NW to NE
- Ward 3: Wisconsin Ave NW
- Ward 4: New Hampshire Ave NW to NE
- Ward 5: Bladensburg Rd NE
- Ward 6: M Street SW to SE
- Ward 7: East Capitol St NE
- Ward 8: Alabama Ave SE
